Sanitation Compliance Certificate
SANITATION OF COLLECTIVE HOUSING (condominium/flat)
The sanitation connection conformity certificate is compulsory for collective housing in certain municipalities of the Alpes Maritimes (06) and Var (83). This diagnosis consists of a visual control of the discharge from the owner's private facilities to the public sanitation networks in order to:
1. Respond to the provisions in force and in particular those of the Public Health Code, the Departmental Health Regulations, the Sanitation Service Regulations.
2. Protect the natural environment by fighting against the risks of pollution.
3. Maintain the proper functioning of the effluent collection and treatment facilities.
The conformity control of domestic discharges consists in verifying that all the exterior and interior installations (toilets, kitchen ...) of the building are correctly connected to the public sanitation networks.
NON COLLECTIVE SANITATION (villa/house)
An expert from SPANC (the public non-collective sanitation service) will come and check your property, using a flow test (dye and smoke), the evacuation of wastewater and the state of maintenance of your equipment. Among other things, it will check whether your system is properly sized in relation to the size of your accommodation, check the correct flows, etc. (Rainwater must be discharged separately from wastewater).
In most cases, this check ensures that no retention structure (septic tank ...) not justified by the destination of the building is connected to the private discharge facilities and the public network.
The certificate of conformity must be dated less than 3 years ago. It is always established by SPANC whose contact details are available from your town hall.
